MEMO

SUBJECT: Training Program
As you know, we are installing a new
computer network and new software. We want the transition to go as smoothly as
possible. It is our responsibility to make the arrangements for the training
sessions for all employees.
So that all employees will be able
to attend and so that our clients will not be inconvenienced, we have decided
to hold an initial training session on Saturday, October 30. We have contracted
with John A. Logan College to deliver this instruction. Two of their
instructors will conduct this initial training program from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
in room 218 on the John A. Logan campus.
Please complete the following:
1. Draft
a memorandum to all employees informing them of the required training session.
When you have finished the draft, let me see it before the final copy is
prepared.
2. Inform
all employees that they will be paid overtime for that day.
3. Since
we will provide lunch for the employees, make reservations at Anthony’s
Restaurant for our staff. Discuss possible menus with them.
4. Provide
the instructor with a list of all employees who will be attending.
5. Please
prepare a list of expenditures for submission to the Accounting Department. Our
head accountant, Paul Clayton, stated in a recent memo, “The disbursement of
funds to pay for the training program will come from the money set aside for
the conversion to the new system.” Please keep me informed of your progress
toward completing these tasks.
